Mrs. Saiko Hamano Tucker, 82, of Albany, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Olds will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens.
Born October 25, 1933 in Kiryu City, Japan, Mrs. Tucker was the daughter of the late Resaburo Hamano and Tsune Motokawa Hamano. She graduated from the Fujisawa High School in Japan in 1952. She lived in Hawaii, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Fayetteville, NC, Louisiana, Kansas and finally settling down with her military husband in Albany around 1971. Mrs. Tucker worked for Dean and Dena Interiors, McGregor’s Golf Company and Miller Brewery. For over 16 years, Mrs. Tucker volunteered with Albany Community Hospice and SOWEGA Council on Aging. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Tucker and the father of her children, Roy Wallace Carden.
Survivors include her two daughters, Romy Tucker of Baconton and Heidi Farnsworth of Albany; two grandchildren, Bryttany Farnsworth and Gage Tucker.
She also had brothers, Yoshio Hamano, Hedaji Hamano, Toshiji Hamano, Tadayuki Hamano and Kazuyoshi Hamano; sisters, Asako Hamano Nakagawa, Keyoko Hamano, Kaholu Hamano Alai and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
