MGySgt Howard  Lyle  Unruh
MGySgt Howard Lyle Unruh, 80, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate.
Born October 19, 1935 in Emporia, Kansas, Mr. Unruh retired from the United States Marine Corps and was very proud to have served his country. He served in the Korean Conflict, The Vietnam Era in which he received several medals. Until the closure of the Marine Corps Logistics Base Chapel, Mr. Unruh and his wife were devoted members of that congregation. He served with the Boy Scouts Troop 101 of Albany for over 20 years and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Unruh was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Martha Lou Cannon Unruh and son, Charles W. Unruh.
Survivors include his children, Carlton L. and Amy Unruh of Albany, Gene and Amy Unruh of Springville, CA, Alicia D. Riley of Albany and 9 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
